Following the new 2007 syllabus (to be first examined in 2009) this Course Companion follows an approach that includes the wider aims of the IBO through connections to TOK, international-mindedness and the IB learner profile. It has been written by a Principal Examiner for the IB Diploma Programme Chemistry and has been extensively reviewed by teachers, consultants and the IB. With material integrated to include international and historical perspectives, students will be encouraged to think critically and make connections to other subjects and to world issues.
